I was going through my computer lookng for a paper that it ate and realized I have quite a few random pictures from recently that I thought I'd post. Perhaps I'll put up a real post later. There sure is a lot going on. Can't believe fall semester of senior year is rapidly coming to a close! Scary stuff! Anyway, happy picture looking at. (p.s--comments always make my day )

I go to a beautiful school! (you know you want to come visit! )

Clearly I have friends who take amazing pictures!

Ok, so I was a wee bit excited about this one!

St Mary's County Fair--for somebody who doesn't like goats, Josh and the goat sure did get along well!

Random goofiness around the house

On the ferris wheel at the St Mary's County Fair....only in St Mary's

Ali and Dan in the Ferris Wheel

Coxswain (or former coxswain) picture

Scuba certification this past weekend!! (this was after we had hiked back up the hill with all our stuff on)

Just smile and nod....

It's a crew thing....who else jumps in the river in late October

Once again, so blessed to go to such a beautiful school!

SCUBA!!! (this is the before shot--the one where I was trying not to fall over....)

Anyway, happy picture looking at. Have a good day!

Sheesh! I simply don't understand men! Why must they be so blasted complicated to figure and why do they so often go for the stupid girls who throw themselves at them??

Well, on to another topic. I promised someone I'd tell about my "adventure" when we were out doing dive research. (if you want to know about that check out my other xanga) So we were out in the bay on a rather choppy day (ok, 3 foot wave choppy). There were about five of us, of which I was the only girl and definitely the youngest by far. There was Steve, the guy for whom I was working; Karl, one of the divers; Jeff, another diver; and Jeremy a guy from NOAA who was out working with us (and is rather handsome--something for which we were teasing him all day ).

So they sent me up to the bow of the boat to secure the transducer cable which would allow me to communicate with the divers while they were on the bottom. That was no problem I thought as I had done it all week. I was up on the bow getting the cable all secured but to do so had to let go of the rail I was holding on to. Before I let go I made sure to check if there were any particularly big waves coming--there weren't. I let go and was balancing there trying to get the cable untangled when this massive wave just came out of absolutely nowhere. As it came out of nowhere I obviously didn't see it and went tumbling off the boat. Being my ever so graceful self I couldn't just fall off the boat, swim over to the stern and hop back in, oh no. In a fruitless attempt at grace I grabbed at the rail trying to catch myself but no such luck. I only succeeded in making a HUGE noise. That noise unfortunately allerted the guys in the cabin and Jeremy, assuming that something terrible had happened to me proceeded to dive in after me fully dressed assuming I was drowning. Once he realized I was perfectly fine, although seriously embarassed, we swam back to the boat and climbed up. Only to be greeted by the rest of the guys laughing at me. They still think I fell off on purpose to be "rescued" . That totally never crossed my mind (and silly as I can be over some things would never ever do something like that!!!) Needless to say I was a wee bit embarassed for the rest of the day, but much cooler running around all wet all day (that can get wierd at times too though!)

So thats the adventure for the week.  Guess you'll have to stay tuned for this year's adventures!

I do believe it is time for a new xanga site. After a very long time on this one I've decided to make a change. The new one is: www.xanga.com/raindroponroses

Hope you're enjoying your Sunday afternoon

How can two splendid days end in a day in which all one wants to do is go back to school?!?

VBS was great. My class was, with few exceptions, the best class I could ask for. Ever so glad I was able to help and praying that field school next year will not conflict with VBS because it'd be sad not to be able to help!

On another note, how does one know if and when they've found their niche? Does everybody have one, or are there some people who just don't belong anywhere? When one comes to the conclusion that they belong in a certain group or situation about as much as a zebra in the Arctic, is it better to try to fit in and exist always on the fringe or should one go where they belong and are wanted?

As always, I'd be interested to see what anybody thinks. Happy Friday!
